Eleanor Stamp
Equestrian and wild-life studies
Born 1990, Eleanor’s childhood was spent in the depths of Norfolk surrounded by horses and dogs and growing up with an enduring love for animals.
After studying Fine Art and Psychology at University she spent a decade in the world of advertising as a TV producer in London. However, her creative thoughts were always yearning for the open skies, space, light and wildlife of her home county and in 2020 she moved back to enable her to give more of her time to painting and drawing.
A lifelong relationship with animals informs and inspires her. She aims to capture their reality, character, strength & vulnerability revealing intimate moments in their lives.
Eleanor is especially passionate about horses and often quotes the words of Ronald Duncan: “Where in this wide world can a person find nobility without pride, friendship without envy or beauty without vanity? Here, where grace is laced with muscle and strength by gentleness confined … There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent, there is nothing so quick, nothing more patient.”
So much of those qualities can be found in these paintings and drawings: Eleanor’s deep understanding and knowledge of The Horse imbue her work with exceptional power.
